THE PROZESS MANIFESTATIONS (new collection)

From Mark's blog (link here):

The Prozess Manifestations | Mark Samuels

Well, I finished the last story for my next collection of weird fiction a couple of weeks ago so I suppose I should think about sending it out. I’ve settled on the title THE PROZESS MANIFESTATIONS.

The contents will be as follows:

Decay
An End to Perpetual Motion
Moon Blood Red – Tide Turning
The Crimson Fog
The Court of Midnight
In the Complex

All six stories – the middle one a novelette – are interconnected by a common thread.

I envisage trying the indie press hardback merchants first so would welcome suggestions, but I don’t imagine it would see print for a couple of years at the earliest, given the usual waiting-time with publishers.

Mark S.

I told Mark I'd love to see a volume of his work from Swan River Press. Sarob would be cool too, if a bit more obscure.

(He's previously published with Tartarus, PS, Ex Occidente, Egaeus, and Chomu)

I also suggested Side Real, Hippocampus, Eibonvale, and Journalstone.

Exciting! I don't think I can endure the wait for a new Samuels collection. Here's hoping he can find a publisher soon!

Even if Mark quickly finds a publisher (and I don't doubt that), it will still take quite a while until we will be able to read all of the stories - as Mark pointed out in his post. Wanting to read his novella "The Crimson Fog" is for me the main incentive to buy S. T. Joshi's soon-to-be released The Red Brain.

There are certainly other writers here if Mr Samuels wanted qualified opinions.
I think he has had dealings with many of the suggestions.
The hardcover publishers mentioned are all fine presses.
As Mr Samuels' books tend to go OP, he might take 2nd printings into consideration.
Hey! No one mentioned Arkham House!

I, lowly wretch that I am, had the honor and privilege of reading all but one of the stories in this upcoming volume. In my opinion it will be one of Mark's best collections.
And, trust me, "The Crimson Fog" alone will be worth the price of admission.

Zagava proudly announces the publication of “The Prozess Manifestations” which will come in an edition of 199 numbered and 26 lettered hardcover exemplars only.

Both editions will have illustrated endpapers, a frontispiece by Ibrahim Ineke and a silk bookmark.

Price of the numbered edition is 49 Euro plus 9 Euro for recorded worldwide delivery.

The lettered edition will be signed by Mark Samuels and is bound in quarter crimson salmon skin(!) and will have crimson edges.

Shipping will start towards the end of November/begin of December.

I am willing to give him another chance.I am just hopping that, this time around, he'll refrain from pushing fingers into his audience's eyes (stuff like brutal torture of aged, ill socialist journalist from "Written in Darkness", those who have read it will recognize the story in question).

I despair of the modern age. Must everything be pounced on with offendedness crap? Seems an awfully expensive way to rake something over the coals, to see whether you might be offended 'this time around'. Odd way to approach a book. Your money, I suppose.

vapidleopard wrote, " I despair of the modern age."

I believe that one version or another of this sentiment - and all the recondite learning and personal reflection implied in it - may be what distinguishes the majority of TLO readers from the mainstream.

(... and a shared passion for Ligotti's work, of course.)

Meh. Those who have read the collection in question will understand what I am talking about. Rest of you should refrain from derailing the thread with "clever" comments, you sure aren't helping Mark's case.
People who read weird fiction of course expect to be challenged and disturbed. My issue is with the presence of pointless political ranting and wish fulfillment that doesn't benefit the stories in any way (not to mention that it goes against this author's supposed opposition to didacticism - unless that opposition is limited only to didacticism that isn't aligned with his own views).

Tried to order it but kept getting the error message "Bitte überprüfen Sie die Eingaben in der E-Mail Bestätigung." For some reason the site seems to think I haven't entered my e-mail even though I have. Weird...

(edit) Never mind, it wouldn't accept my cox e-mail but it did take my gmail account. As I said, weird, but no big deal
