Every evening I feel like Charlie Brown checking his mailbox for Valentines. Empty. Nobody loves me. Today I sent off an email requesting a tracking number for my pre-ordered HC. Living in Australia, I suppose I am about as far away from the US as one can get, so perhaps I will be the last person to receive his (eagerly awaited) copy.

It has arrived, it has reached me multas per gentes et multa per aequora, and it is beautiful! Will read and review.

PS. I might actually be too content right now to start reading this kind of stories.

PS2. Next time I will put an actual PO number down in my order and I won't write "Just drop it next to Severini's shack, between the swamp and the ruins." I suspect that might have been the reason for the delay...

what a co-incidence!!! One of my Hardbacks arrived today as well. I think the confusion was that I received an email stating it had been shipped on 30th Dec, but the actual shipping date on the parcel states 9th Jan. I must say I was really impressed with how well protected the book was. It had a backing board and was totally sealed in cellaphane and then placed in a sturdy cardboard box....Really impressed. Looking forward to delving into the stories now :-)

I feel remiss not mentioning the secure packaging myself. It gave the book an additional reverence as if recieving a fragile tome found in the foundations of a long crumbled castle being shared between professionals or perhaps as a curse being passed along. Yet it was a sturdy copy and a great read.
Currently I am awaiting reading the final story and have enjoyed catching the links that tie the tales together and look forward to re-reading to catch more that I am quite sure are weaved into the entire scope of the world Jon created.

Definitely read every story. Although each story is quite good, you don't realize how good the book is until you've completely finished it. The whole is indeed greater than the sum of its parts. I can't imagine reading each story as a completely separate piece; that's simply not the way it was meant to be read.
