Re: Forthcoming Books
Guys, I've been buying from small presses for decades.
Delays occur. Sometimes the title flat does not come out. If the latter occurs, generally I get a refund. On rare occasion I get burned. @#$%!!. I do try to support the small presses, though, and not purchase from that big river outfit, nor from ghouls whom I regard as ticket scalpers.

Re: Forthcoming Books
It would look better if Strange Attractor Press mentioned the delay themselves. Mid-April is long overdue.
But the problems needn't just be the regular small press problems - it could simply be that the editor is very busy and haven't had the time to finalise it. Or new material for the bibliography have been discovered. Or, or, or... But apart from delays, I've always found SAP to be very reliable and trustworthy. |

Re: Forthcoming Books
problem, in this case, is their lack of transparency... people wouldn't be bitter if they had some idea about the reasons behind these (constant) delays... BTW, if finances are the problem, they could try to crowdfund the volume in question via Kickstarter or some analogous platform? David Tibet is still a name with a fair deal of weight behind it, so he could attract some support and publicity for the crowdfunding campaign... people are anxious because the writer in question has been long out of reach of all but the richest collectors - this is probably only chance of seeing his work in widely available format that we'll see anytime soon... so I needn't add that this collection's failure to see print would be quite a tragedy

Re: Forthcoming Books
hey, Whispers of Sorrow, would you like to write my posts for me? Somehow you've managed to make my point more clearly in a single paragraph than I've been able to make it in... well, more than that.
I do give small presses slack... I do so because I understand that the economic challenges are significant. But I also expect them to recognize the slack and respond accordingly. And that means: TRANSPARENCY. It's why I've been spending money—money that means something—on small presses that persistently struggle with logistical challenges. But critically, those presses communicate openly, and try diligently to make up for it. That, in my book, is being a professional. And with those that fail on those counts... I take my business elsewhere. I'm not asking for something unreasonable.

'There is a Graveyard That Dwells in Man' is now showing as having been pushed back to 25th January 2019 on Amazon UK. It does appear to have a new front cover, however.

Re: Forthcoming Books
Some promising announcements from Egaeus Press on their Facebook page and e-newsletter. "A Book of the Sea" seems quite interesting, especially since it will contain a new work by the wonderful writer George Berguño.
Also very excited to see any new work by John Gale who has been justly compared to CA Smith and Lafcadio Hearn, this is long overdue. And "The Egaeus Book of Flowers" sounds intriguing as well! Good people, news of forthcoming attractions: Firstly, and in answer to that question hovering on so many lips: A BOOK OF THE SEA will be available to pre-order in the first few days of June. A further announcement will follow when pre-ordering becomes available, so please keep looking to the horizon... This book will be limited to 400 copies, and will contain previously unseen works by Jane Jakeman, Rosalie Parker, Tom Johnstone, Colin Insole, Jonathan Eeds, Stephen J. Clark, Karim Ghahwagi, Michael Colangelo, Colin Fisher, George Berguño, Albert Power, Martin Jones, David Yates, S.A. Rennie, D.F. Lewis, Steven Pirie, Jonathan Wood, Tim Foley, Joseph Dawson, Charles Schneider and Richard Sheppard. This publication will be followed, in a matter of a month or so with the forth in our occasional series of EGAEUS PRESS KEYNOTE EDITIONS, showcasing some of the best in contemporary weird writers, in this case the iridescent JOHN GALE, and a collection of very rare and previously unpublished tales and proems entitled SARABAND OF SABLE. More news of that soon. Further, those willing to be patient, will, in the months to follow be treated to THE EGAEUS PRESS BOOK OF FLOWERS, and a new collected edition of the stories of CHARLES WILKINSON... but wait... not just yet... Thank you all for your attention. https://www.facebook.com/egaeus.press Edit: Now on the Egaeus Press web site: News - Egaeus Press

Re: Forthcoming Books
The John Gale book from Egaeus Press will be an instant purchase for me. I've been hoping for a new volume of his work for some time.
A recent blog post by Michael Cisco offers the merest suggestion that we may, at last, be set to receive a new collection of his shorter works: Michael Cisco's Blog - 4.4.18 - April 04, 2018 10:52
