E.M. Cioran on H.P. Lovecraft

Not sure if anyone's posted on this before, but I was surprised to see while flicking through Cioran's Cahiers a reference to HP Lovecraft:

'Lovecraft writes a novel which is a recounting of a nightmare. In a letter to a friend he wonders if he has the right to be paid for a production of which he cannot entirely assume the responsibility...'

P.804 (My own dodgy translation).

I gather there was a boom in French translations of Lovecraft in the 70s which apparently Cioran was exposed to.
