I liked the Need for an Explanation thread for the Italian horror tangent. Can't remember it getting too heated. The far right politics interjections were brushed off pretty quickly, IIRC. Wish the discussion just kept on track of the central premise rather than devolving into another talk on Joshi's other views and alleged victim status, but I suppose some grievances on this issue must be aired again. And again. And again.

Well, I mean, this IS a forum devoted to Ligotti, after all. A man whose stories are full of unpleasant things (that often turn out to be pointless: I don't mean that as an insult either).

Just put Annihilation on my Kindle. I know many on here didn't dig it, but I'm going in with an open mind. Hopefully I also leave it with an open mind. I don't expect the presence of minority characters to bother me, at any rate.
