Michael Hussar

I swear I thought I had posted on him before, but looking through the archive once again, I hadn't. For those of you familiar with him, he has finally updated his site. To be fair, one cannot expect a man who paints the way he does to do so quickly, but I got sick of seeing poorly reproduced mugshots of his new work in magazines without being able to see it well online.

I'll try to choose the more chaste of his imagery since I am guessing Dr. Bantham may have had a few of my posts in mind when putting the content monitoring function into effect.

An added note, I do believe that Mr. Hussar is Catholic, his father was simply, if what I have read is accurate, ably seen as an overbearing nutcase to him and his family, which is where some of the symbols of self-righteousness and guilt come into effect. I don't believe they're to be interpreted as necessarily anti-religious, but then again I do not believe there is usually any one right way to interpret a work of art that is actually worth the time to take note of.

Another special note, I do find it amusing when an artist whose output is full of eccentricity looks a bit like a mad scientist themselves. I've seen very good pictures of him online but most are copyrighted by other photographers and I don't want to put up a bunch of other links that aren't even that interesting. I'll just settle for a few of his accurate self-portraits.


What a badass. At least his face, don't know much else about him.
