Don Coscarelli's new movie is an adaptation of David Wong's novel about two idiots who accidentally shoot part of an evil god into their veins.

I hadn't heard of the book or film being produced, but now I'm certainly interested, thanks!

This could be used as a slightly extreme anti-drugs campaign ;)

JDATE is by far the funniest book I've ever read. I usually read at work, and I had tears streaming down my cheeks and could hardly breathe. I'm looking forward to the movie, but there's no way I'm gonna enjoy it as much. CHG

I am pleased to report the movie lives up to the promise of its trailer. Coscarelli did some amazing things with practical effects and a shoestring budget (for a movie of this scale, anyway). There's more snarkiness and dick jokes than the average Ligotti story but it has plenty of bleak cosmic horror to balance out the comedic elements. It'll be available on DVD/VOD/Netflix soon.

Since my earlier post I have now read this book and found it the funniest book I've read for a long time. I definitely recommend it.
I'm now looking forward to watching the film!

Also, I believe there's a follow up book:
