Year's Best Weird Fiction, Vol. 3 - Submissions

For those unaware, I've been selected as the guest co-editor of the next volume of THE YEAR'S BEST WEIRD FICTION.

I know there are some writers in this forum, so I'd like to urge them to ask their publishers to send material in. We can't consider what we don't see.

Remember, this is only for work first published this calander year.

See this link for instructions...

Re: Year's Best Weird Fiction, Vol. 3 - Submissions

I love this series, and wish I had something to submit to this third volume--but I cannot think of anything to be publish'd this year that wou'd qualify for a Year's Best anthology. I love the idea of a different editor for each year's volume, as this will keep the selections fresh. One of the great values of such a book, for me, is that I am introduced to stories that I wou'd never otherwise have discover'd--I read so little new weird fiction these days, unless they are stories in a book for which I have contributed a tale and thus am sent a copy. This is a series worthy of our support. The second volume has been edited by Kathe Koja and Michael Kelly, and its Contents will be
"The Atlas of Hell", Nathan Ballingrud
"Wendigo Nights", Siobhan Carroll
"Headache", Julio Cortazar
"Loving Armageddon", Amanda C. Davis
"The Earth and Everything Under", K. M. Ferebee
"Nanny Anne and the Christmas Story", Karen Joy Fowler
"The Girls Who Go Below", Cat Hellisen
"Nine", Kima Jones
"Bus Fare", Caitlin R. Kiernan
"The Air We Breathe Is Stormy, Stormy", Rich Larson
"The Husband Switch", Carmen Maria Machado
"Observations About Eggs From the Man Sitting Next to Me on a Flight from Chicago, Illinois to Cedar Rapids, Iowa", Carmen Maria Machado
"Resurrection Points", Usman T. Malik
"Exit Through the Gift Shop", Nick Mamatas
"So Sharp That Blood Must Flow", Sunny Moraine
"The Ghoul", Jean Muno, English Translation by Edward Gauvin
"A Stretch of Highway Two Lanes Wide", Sarah Pinsker
"Migration", Karin Tidbeck
"Hidden in the Alphabet", Charles Wilkinson
"A Cup of Salt Tears", Isabel Yap

"We work in the dark -- we do what we can -- we give what we have. Our doubt is our passion and our passion is our task. The rest is the madness of art."

Re: Year's Best Weird Fiction, Vol. 3 - Submissions

There's a dearth of European-based weird fiction in these volumes because the publishers have been resistant to submitting electronic copies. I'd like to urge any of those publishers reading this to reconsider on behalf of your authors. And, if there are any authors whose work has been published by these publishers in 2015, please ask them to submit your work. If they won't, please contact me privately.
