  • The Sailor Tokuso and the Sea Monster Umibōzu by Utagawa Kuniyoshi (c. 1797-1861)

Greetings Cyril Tourneur. Thought you might find this interesting, if you have not heard about it already - largest snake ever recorded. This sucker was found yesterday on a small nameless island off the west coast of Sumatra. Unfortunately, it was already dead when found (apparently from natural causes):

    Cheers!
Hello there!Few months ago you posted a thread about a photographer who usually takes black and white pictures of landscapes and clouds. Do you remember his name? I can't find the thread.
Ha! Your current avatar-pic, Tobias, is one that always fascinated & repulsed me as a child poring over books of sea-monster lore. Good choice.
Probably you're already aware of this (you seem to be uncommonly well versed in all things strange and weird) but on the off chance it has somehow escaped your eye, check out this site: http://comicsworld.wordpress.com/ Tons of great comic books available there. It's especially rich in rare pre-code horror comics. Very entertaining stuff, at times, if mostly in a Tyrannosaurus Reich kind of way. Conan, Creepy, Eerie, E.C., and all kinds of other rightious comics can be found here.
There's another great comic book site called There's a Crosseyed Cyclops in My Basement (do a search on any engine for it). No guarantees on this one, however. Last time I checked it a few days ago it was inaccessible. Crashed my browser and Internet session trying to access it, in fact. Still, wouldn't be surprised if it came back online soon.
