As an aside, I noticed you posted a link to an article about a TL story as egregore and I have wondered if that got you on the idea of group-think effecting the contest)
I thank you for your time and your suggestion to Pseudopod, aside from your excellent work here bringing a dusky jewel out of the gravel pit that is the majority of the inter-web.
I apologize for the long post but I am interested in hearing your views. (Relatively new at this sort of thing so I don't know if this was the right way to do this.)

Also, I wish to draw your attention to group 11, the same 8 or 9 people seem to be speaking with the same voice, at times I thought it might be the same person logging in under different avatars. But it truly looked like who ever posted first set the tone of like or dislike for the rest of them. The Ministry of Information couldn't have done a better job. My story is not in group 11, this was something I noticed while attempting to judge each story on its own merits and then seeing how the story might fair with others.
I appreciated your suggestion about separating the comments from the story and did not feel you were suggesting a change in the middle of the contest, but it was an example of people arguing you about something another person credited to you, despite the fact your comment was there and showed a distinct absence of the issue causing the upset. Again it felt like the most argument against your statement came from the most guilty.

I hope this is not imposing or crossing some too meta line in the sand but I would like to discuss your point on the Pseudopod Flash Fiction Contest. I will express my thoughts on that forum once my second story has run it's course.
You make the point of the dangers of group think in the comments on the stories and your point is sadly valid. Not to seem all sour grapes but take note of my first story in group 3, Hunt. The group latched on to something that wasn't even actually in the story and all started agreeing that this made the story unbelievable, self validation through repetition. Shortly after your post a commentor said he gave the story a 2nd chance dismissing the gang opinions and he had a higher opinion of the story.I do not feel my story was the best ever, it may not even be the best of my own, however I would have liked for it to get a fair shake and not condemned or dismissed for something somebody says in the comments that isn't actually in the story.

Could you stop deleting, like now, my responses?
