  • Yes, I know I am not very sociable. Not that that matters. What matters now is that I'd discovered a rather strange website through a youtube channel called Nightmare Expo. It felt sort of sketchy at first but the more I looked about, it became completely clear to me that this is simply an independent art project and not some deep-web cult. Its strange though, too strange not to share.

I have to come here to see how old I am, because I cannot remember. Hullo spaceboy.
Do you know, I've gone through moft of this year thinking I was 64 years of age. I just looked at my age above and -- !!! Senility hath set in, my ducks.
I have been viewing your videos on The Hound and The Festival and am most impressed with them. Like yourself, I am somewhat obsessed with The Hound in particular and do not consider it self-parody but serious literary expression. I have never had the confidence to write a direct sequel to the tale for I feel I do not have the power to pull it off successfully. Instead certain elements and motifs of The Hound may crop up in my tales, such as the sinister ghoul-gentlemen and the Museum of Death. And your hound-amulet makes me drool with lust and envy. Have you heard any strange, far-off baying as of some gigantic hound yet?

Here is an excerpt from ye wonderful The Lovecraft Anthology Volume Two, which I highly recommend.

It hath been so long since I posted here! Life is crazy and crowded. I have burned out on writing books, and doubt that I will be working on any new collection for a few years. Jeffrey Thomas and I will eventually be writing an Enoch Coffin novel. I am trying to find a real job, but my congestive heart failure & antient age limit my possibilities. I did just get invited to contribute to a forthcoming issue of WEIRD TALES, and that delights me, because there is a strong Lovecraftian connection with that journal. Wishing all of ye a wondrous 2014.
Wilum, can you email me at roy@badmoonbooks.com? Like to send you a copy of our revised DEATH POEMS.
The edition of ENOCH that was selling at Amazon was flaw'd, missing three interior illustrations. Ye corrected edition will soon be available. And I just heard from Arcane Wisdom Press that my other new book, BOHEMIANS OF SESQUA VALLEY, is at ye printers. Hopefully, one of these will be in my hot wee hand before I head off to Portland for ye H. P. LOVECRAFT FILM FESTIVAL & CTHULHU CON.
My newest book, ENCOUNTERS WITH ENOCH COFFIN, is now available in trade pb at Amazon. This is a book of utterly Lovecraftian tales that I co-wrote with Jeffrey Thomas, and I think that Jeff and I succeeded in creating our own modern, sexy, lunatic version of Lovecraft's Richard Upton Pickman.
Thanks, Nick. We make the "big move" on Tuesday, and then I'm gonna just crash for a day or two and catch up on sleep and sanity. And then I will live in an atmosphere of complete silence and solitude, writing book after nameless book.
Much strength and inner peace to you dear Wilum during this trying time. It's a tough go making these huge decisions. Lest ye lose your sanity, these emotionally challenging resolutions are sometimes necessary. Let me know if there is anything I can do to help.
We are placing my mother into a nursing facility this coming Wednesday (January 2, I think). It's such an emotional experience, but living with her dementia has made working on new books next to impossible, so living here alone will probably greatly enhance my ability to write. I have so many books yet inside me. Happiest of New Years to all.
Just sold a story to S. T. Joshi's forthcoming anthology from Fedogan & Bremer, SEARCHERS AFTER HORROR. This is especially sweet because I have suffer'd over two months of gnarly writer's block; but I love those F&B books and have long wanted to appear in one.
My newest videos just sold two copies of Tom's Centipede Press book. Who knew that YouTube would prove such a rad outlet for book promotion??!!
    My dear Professor:--
Your dwelling sounds charming, a perfect setting for you to set some weird tales of your own composition, if that urge ever creeps upon ye!
Just started going through Sesqua valley NOW, after having left the book quite carelessly in the hands of a friend. Now I'm reading my more worn out copy - however, it's an excellent volume, and the setting couldn't be more fitting - I'm in a small village in the deep forest, the house I'm in has no electricity and the foundation is dated 1640s - perfect.
THE TANGLED MUSE was listed as having only 15 copies remaining plus some "scratch and dent" ones with "minor" scruffs and dents. But then Jerad revamped his website and now it doesn't say there are so few copies -- so I don't know. The new site is quite wonderful.
Just realised I've actually read some of your stuff in some Cthulhu-mythos anthologies I've read over the years - and I'm, so far - impressed. My local retailer told me "The Tangled Muse" was unavailable however - is this true? Will start my journey to the Sesqua valley this evening - and If I enjoy what I find - that volume feels like the next tome to absorb..
