  • I just realized I never properly thanked you - or even thanked you at all - for those neat pinball download messages. Amazing... if that Giger table existed in real life, I might have to look in to selling a kidney. Thanks for the info!
Thanks for the warm welcome, hypnogeist! If you beat (or already have beaten) my high score in Pirate Launch I would only be happy. It would give me a reason to come back to that catchy pirate song. I will definitely check out Crazy Orcs Racing. As for my handle, I've used it elsewhere and you are the first one to catch the reference. So nice to finally find good company.
Hi, hypnogeist! I have been away, because I have been very very busy! A book of short stories was published in early December, with a story of mine included. And I am busy finishing part 1 of my big novel, which I want to publish in 2011. Thanks for your info about that pinball simulation programme, which includes my beloved Fireball! I'll check it out. I wish you a happy and healthy 2011. --Johan
Thank you for the picture (seen for the first time today). It's not often that I visit this site now. (Maybe something to do with realising that I dislike Mr Ligotti's writings a great deal.) I'm afraid that pinball has never been my thing, it calls for quick reactions which I simply don't possess.
Thank you for the links to pinball games!! I love playing games, unfortunately I have been extremely busy lately and have not been able to play lately. I plan to fix that soon lol
Hello, hypnogeist! Yes, you're right, I'm up to my mental eyes in my novel. I want to finish the first part before this year ends, so that it can be published in 2011. The second part then will come out in 2012. Length in toto: around 800 pages or more... Thanks for the pinball links! I was a pinball wizard in my early teens ('seventies), even won some prizes at our local chip shop. The machine I really 'tamed' was Bally's 'Fireball'... Hope all is well with you, too!
Thanks for the virtual pinball links, Pinball Wizard. Watch out for razor blades in apples, old Christmas fruitcakes passed off as Halloween candy, and homemade caramel popcorn balls. Happy Halloween!
Awesome card my dear friend!!Lovely and funny! As for the games, i'm kind of addicted to 10 Gnomes from in here. That's the kind of games that i like :)
Good morning friend and thanks for the info. I'm thinking of buying the large poster. It's quite amazing!
~N stands for nonsense or as better known as Nydia. Sorry it took me eons to reply, but lately I have been absorbed by E. M. Cioran...Salud!~N ;]
Never mind. I don't think that perfection is possible in anything made by people.

Thanks for asking about my epic series.

Volumes 1, 2 and 5 are published on Lulu, and should be available elsewhere in June (barring further problems).

Volume 8 is published on Lulu, but is unlikely to be available elsewhere before late July.

Volume 11 is the one I'm currently writing.

Volumes 3, 4, 6, 7, 9, 10 and 12 exist only in the form of nebulous plans. After volume 11, I plan to tackle volume 4 next. That may not be until next year.
I feel partly flattered and partly dismayed that you should go to such trouble to answer my comment. My source for what "sport" means comprises merely the way I've heard it used. (Largely on television and by games teachers.) I am far from being a fan of sport, so denying something that status should not be taken as an speaking ill of the activity. Indeed, I tend to use the word "sport" in a pejorative way.
While I don't wish to deny that poker calls for the qualities you say it does, I am doubtful about calling poker a "sport". I'm aware that the meaning of words is not fixed, but feel inclined to resist the extension of their meanings into fresh areas. Since words are meaningful, in part, because of the huge number of things they don't mean, making them mean more things can (paradoxically) result in their meaning less. If "sport" includes poker, why not chess, monopoly, scrabble? Why not musical competitions (which share significant qualities with sports)? If that, might the word be extended to include all music?
