  • Check out the 6 new R. S. Connett pictures in the Miscellaneous album (scroll down to the bottom right area of this page to find the album, for some reason it started appearing way down there recently). What wonderfully weird works they are! If you like them be sure to visit the artist's website at www.vomitus.com.
I seem to have missed your birthday. Sorry. Hope you had a good one.

Online poker? Crumbs! It strikes me as pretty well the same as giving your money away. (Give away my money? I hadn't thought of that. What a good idea!) In my novels, bankrupts are enslaved (one way to pay off their debts). Someone describes gambling as "the great slave catcher".
"Votive Offerings to Hathor" is listed at £40 on UK Amazon:

Votive Offerings to Hathor: Amazon.co.uk: Geraldine Pinch: Books

Is that less than the price at which you found it? Mind, it says "Temporarily out of stock." Could be that the book is out of print, but Amazon is unaware of the fact. Someone in America is offering a very expensive used copy on UK Amazon. £137.84!

    Worth looking out for, anyway.
Funny you should say that Hat-hor might have had a taste for blood. According to a myth recounted in the Book of the Cow of Heaven, Ra sent his eye in the form of Hat-hor to slaughter rebellious mankind. When Ra changed his mind, the goddess wouldn't stop. So Ra had the land covered with a mixture of beer and red ochre. Mistaking the mixture for blood, Hat-hor paused to drink it, fell into a drunken stupor, and forgot to continue the slaughter.

As to what was offered to the goddess in ancient times, you should take a look at book called "Votive Offerings to Hathor" by Geraldine Pinch. Some of it might surprise you. The wooden penises? Ancient sex toys, perhaps.
The disc is the sun... No blood sacrifices (I'm not a Christian!!)... but I sometimes make an offering of red wine, and more often of flowers.
Thank you! I'll let you know. So far, I'm finding Lulu.com very confusing, but it's early days yet.
You've added reading my eponymous novel to your "to do list"? Crumbs! Do you have a copy? And are you aware that it's been overtaken by changes in my plans?

I am currently working on a projected series of 12 novels called "The Warriors of Love". Of the 12, 4 are to be an extended re-write of "Odalisque". Currently, one non-"Odalisque" "W of L" novel exists, and 2 that are expansions of the first half of "Odalisque". I'm about a quarter of the way through writing the third of the novels that was formerly part of "Odalisque".

Currently, these novels exist only as collections of computer files (I've sent them on CD to a number of people). But I'm thinking of using Lulu.com to publish one or two of them as paper and ink books.
Greetings hypnogeist. Now I'm really embarrassed - not only do I not remember whether or not I did not recommend the VU, I also don't recall recommending KC as well. Sheesh! I think you are trying to psych me out on the game board. Anyway, I'm glad to hear that you like KC. I haven't listened to them in a while. It's funny, of all the (real as opposed to Phil Collins' backup band) Genesis albums, Selling England By the Pound was my least favorite (my favorites being Nursery Cryme and Foxtrot). Good job confusing me. I needed that. :)
I haven't seen the poster!Wish i had it!I have bought the dvd box set which contains all the episodes. It's really amazing.
Merry Saturnalia! (belated) and New Year's. As for my absence, I can only say I am fermenting... Most grateful for your compliment. May Dionysus bless you.Cheers, ~N
