Hi, Sam. The Mima Mounds aren't particularly spectacular, alas. You get the real effect from overhead photos. The mounds spread for miles and are covered by roads, farms, etc. I'm glad you enjoyed Hallucigenia. That's one of my favorites. Thanks for checking out my books. Much appreciated.

Currently reading The Imago Sequence and Other Stories, and words fail me. The book in general, and "Hallucigenia" in particular, have captivated my attention like nothing else I've come across since Ligotti.

Googled hallucigenia - wow, another fantastic little detail that adds to the overall effect of the tale. And the Mima Mounds are real?! I will be in Portland in a couple of weeks, and the two-hour drive to the Mounds is almost a given.
