The New Nonsense

  • Yes, I know I am not very sociable. Not that that matters. What matters now is that I'd discovered a rather strange website through a youtube channel called Nightmare Expo. It felt sort of sketchy at first but the more I looked about, it became completely clear to me that this is simply an independent art project and not some deep-web cult. Its strange though, too strange not to share.

Some cool sculptures to be found here- http://www.caduceusbooks.com/sculpture-1/Idolatrytext.htm . Aesthetically like a meeting halfway between the sculptures and visual art of Clark Ashton Smith and the kind of folkish imagery used in Pan's Labyrinth. The images take a while to load if you try any of them.

It is too bad the pictures are not downloadable, otherwise I'd have submitted them in response to your old post regarding Andrew Chumbley, as the captions are written by his student Daniel Schulke I believe.
Afternoon Nonesense, hope this message finds you well.

One final, trivial note regarding the House of The Hidden Light discussion - I'm posting it here as I have a feeling Ray must be heartily bored of me and my alchemy, having encountered it quite a lot recently.

In his introduction R.A. Gilbert proposes that the book's title was derived from W. Marsham Adams The House of The Hidden Places. While the argument he puts forth for that reason is convincing I would like to propose an alternative hypothesis. I believe the title may have been influenced by the alchemist and hermetic philosopher Thomas Vaughan's track Aula Lucis or the House of Light. I know Machen thought quite highly of some of Vaughan's works (he and his Lumen de Lumine get a substantial cameo in the original "Graal" ending of A Fragment of Life)

    Best Wishes
Hey man, check this one out. I haven't listened to Tool forever, but as you probably know, the drummer is somewhat of an independent scholar of the LHP as well as a bibliophile of related studies. He just rehashed and extensively expanded his website- http://www.dannycarey.org/ . If you check out the bookstore there you can find some intriguing titles him and Blair MacKenzie Blake have released. One of the most ambient websites on the internet. A real throwback to when MySpace hadn't yet come along to ruin artistic web layout.
    Hay New Nonsense.

Do you mind if I ask you another question regarding the whole Arthur Machen/Golden Dawn issue?
I am delighted to accept your friendship request! I was just re-reading your interview a few days ago and flet a kinship with many of your replies. One of my best friends is a psychic investigator of sorts, and practicing witch. Went to one of her covens, and it was interesting but too social for me. I practiced as solitary witch for a while, then six years ago I return'd to Mormonism -- a whole different kind of hoodoo -- after 25 years of excommunication for being queer. I'm perhaps too queer & decadent to be successful as a return'd Latter-day Saint, but it has proved an interesting adventure, to be certain!;)
