Yep, you nailed it, Slawek. This guy creeps the blazes out of me. What CAS story cycled have you read so far? I have read most of his Hyperborea, Zothique, and Averoigne tales, as well as many other stories and lots of his poetry. I really enjoyed "The Seven Geases" and "The Testament of Athammaus", but he has an excellent talent for weaving dreamy qualaties into his writings.

Thanks for the picture comment. The book under "The House of Sounds" is actually "The Dream of X" by William Hope Hodgson, illustrated by Steve Fabian (Donald M. Grant, 1977).

I don't know if you'll see this message very soon, but I'm off to bed anyhow, Slawek. It's nice, as you said in the chat, to see you are discovering CAS, while I am exploring TL for the first time. Have you read 'Xeethra'? I re-read it very recently and I was amazed at this story, the very subtle construction of the narrative. And that prose style, of course - champagne.
