I saw that a few years ago and enjoyed it. I only learned recently that it's a book series with many adaptations.

Brian De Palma liked a fan edit of Raising Cain so much he let it become an official release because it was close enough to what he had intended.

I understand a lot of the criticisms of the new Dune but I still found it quite absorbing and atmospheric, some of the soundtrack was wonderful. Perhaps it wasn't faithful but I think she's a very strong actress and seems to be one of the best critically received performances.

Why a guilty pleasure? The comic relief felt a bit out of place to me but isn't too surprising in a Shaw Bros film.

I've been thinking about seeing that one actually. I recently saw a profile of Bette Davis that featured it prominently.

I think that's a really good one and maybe holds up better than the Bava films overall. The tormented stare of the man is still quite disturbing.

Kuroneko is one of the most visually black and white films I've ever seen, if that makes sense. I found Peony Lantern a tad disappointing, it leans a bit heavy on that poor poor innocent weepy good people sort of thing.

I think Paul Williams is a bit better known now than he was when that film was made, I'm sure he was doing fine most of the time from royalties and his Muppets stuff was successful but now people praise him for Phantom Of Paradise.
