A Feeling Of Euphoric Hopelessness

Thanks for posting this one, G.S. Tom's description of that particular emotion, and also the term "euphoric hopelessness" itself, is exquisitely accurate in its pinpointing of an experience that has immobilized me many times. It's the sort of thing that knocked me down years ago when I cracked open Grimscribe for the first time and realized within a few pages that this author was describing the secret textures and contours of my own soul.

yes, i enjoyed this quote and that specific phrase, "euphoric hopelessness" as well. however, unlike Ligotti and people who relate to his writing, i do find this nihilistic revelation euphoric... i get excited with energy and pleasure knowing that what i assumed to be correct was verified by a visionary such as Ligotti. and this assumption is: that our world is an illusion designed by a mankind-hostile universe.

i suppose if i didn't take joy in knowing the truth, i'd find it depressing. and while i think putting stock in this illusion is hopeless, i do not consider the fate of every human being to be without hope.
