I've never been the crying type, but something about the musical Les Misérables always gets to me, as bombastic and melodramatic as it can be (though to be totally honest, I like those aspects of it). When I saw the film in theaters back in January of 2013, I told myself I wouldn't cry (because I don't like expressing emotion around strangers), and I almost made it all the way to the end (though I'd be lying if I said I didn't get a little choked up during Anne Hathaway's "I Dreamed a Dream" and Samantha Banks' "On My Own"). The scene I worried most about was this scene, the ending: I think it was the re-appearance of Colm Wilkinson as the Bishop that did it for me. Though in my defense, almost everyone in the damn theater was crying by that point, so I wasn't alone!

- I absolutely love the song that plays in this scene; it's the same tune Herzog used in the end of 'Stroszek'.

Are you a Roman Catholic?

It is, apparently, in certain quarters, like asking, are you Spartacus?

Nice to see love for Southland Tales. The Cannes cut is particularly excellent.
