Daniel Mills thread

No, I haven't read anything yet but there is what seems to be a print on demand version of Lord Came At Twilight now on amazon. I found the original a year or two ago after quite a bit of waiting for a good price, but this new one is really cheap.

Thanks for bringing this up. I've been impressed by many of the Daniel Mills stories I've come across in various anthologies, but The Lord Came At Twilight was always prohibitively expensive (at least here in the UK). If it is POD now then I shall certainly pick up a copy.

It's a really good collection, I highly recommend it (the same goes for his novels Revenants and Moriah, and his novella The Account of David Stonehouse, Exile). IMO he's one of the more criminally underrated writers on the scene today, which is a shame because he's very talented...

Agreed with everything said so far. I have nothing new to add, only that Daniel Mills' work is worth searching for. He's one of those writers that makes me want to learn more about early US history. He makes me wish I were a better reader.

While I've enjoyed every short story of his that I've read, I didn't enjoy Revenants anywhere near as much; though possibly this might have been down to my personal preference for short stories over novels.

Anyway, I now have a copy of The Lord Came at Twilight ordered, as apparently the nine books I received as gifts over the Christmas period were not enough. :D

Earlier this year, I read Moriah and quite enjoyed it. Mr. Mills is a talented writer. Does anyone here know what he's been up to lately? It's been quite awhile since anything by him has been published, from what I've gathered.

he's largely been focused on being a dad and his true crime podcast (which, honestly, is incredible [and i say this as someone who generally finds most true crime to be exploitative trash and doesn't have the patience for the overwhelming majority of podcasts.])
