Gonna give Radiohead a try—any suggestions?

I want to give Radiohead a proper listen. I’ve always listened to a few of their songs here and there—I could count them on one hand: “My Iron Lung,” “No Surprises,” “High and Dry,” “Paranoid Android,” and, sometimes, “Creep.” However, I recently discovered some of their songs through aesthetics like dreamcore, and honestly, I’ve been listening to their albums more lately. I want to be able to take them in little by little, slowly and at my own pace.

I think the same, but mostly out of intuition and because my two favorite songs are from there. I’ll start with that one, and then I was thinking of trying Kid A. What do you think of that one?

Not a big Radiohead fan... i pick up their CDs, when i find them cheaply. I do like OK Computer, however. Made some good coin when I sold a vinyl copy of it a few years ago.

I'm actually gonna disagree. Try In Rainbows first THEN OK Computer. OK Computer is one of the best albums ever. So try the burger first THEN try the filet mignon.
I’ll keep that in mind. I was planning to listen to them tonight, taking my time. So OK COMPUTER for last, then, right?

Now that you mention it... there’s a CD and vinyl shop in the only shopping mall in my city. I think they had some Radiohead CDs, but I didn’t pay much attention when I went to look around (I was looking for other stuff). It’s a small shop, but I’m pretty sure that if I find something by Radiohead there, it’ll be cheaper than ordering it online.

Always best to support brick & mortar shops before buying online!

Here (Big Island) and on the mainland, I can buy CDs at thrift stores for between 25 cents and a dollar. Because of this, I've greatly expanded my music listening to genres that in the past never held much interest. Sometimes I'll score a bunch of CDs, like 10-15, for a few dollars. Although my record and CD collection is almost 10K items, there's ALWAYS more that's worth listening to. I've been a music adventurer for 50+ years.

Last night I stayed up late listening to Radiohead. I have several thoughts on their different albums; each one reminds me of certain, very different styles, but there’s a definite tendency that evokes—I wouldn’t know whether to call it feelings of sadness, exactly, but rather a kind of passive ominousness... It’s strange. The tones and scales they use... eerie maybe?

I’m definitely sticking with OK Computer, without a doubt.

That said, I went to the record store I mentioned to you. They had The Smiths and countless other bands that many people would probably be dying to find, but they didn’t have anything by Radiohead—not even on vinyl.

Still, on Radiohead’s Bandcamp, I saw that they sell these editions, which I assume are “extended” editions or something along those lines for each album. Of course, you can get the “standard” version digitally, but these are the ones that come with a physical copy.

For OK Computer, for example, it would be this one:

I’d like to have that CD, and all things considered, it’s pretty cheap, even with shipping and everything. Still, I’d like to have different versions of different albums—not necessarily the ones you can find online, but rather some editions from different countries and things like that.

For example, they sell the My Iron Lung EP on CD at a store in the capital of my country. I had it at one point, and it included the acoustic version of “Creep,” but in other regions, that track isn’t included.
