I watched Skinamarink on Shudder (thank to you guys on TLO mentioning it) with light on and other people and I was still very creeped out. I had to skip some parts and looked away from the screen because I couldn't stand the full experience. I looked up other people's reactions and it was divisive with some saying it was horrible pretentious crap and others praising it as the best horror film. I think the reason is some people have a lower fear response or just forget they have a primal fear of the dark. Kind of like how humans have evolved to sense snakes and spiders because they fear them, so the same with darkness. The last 30 min was horrifying for me as a sense of doom grew and culminated with the face. I will probably have nightmare about this film in the future.
