Nocturnal Products

I read Eddies story in THE GRIMSCRIBE PUPPETS some months ago and its been a real brain stickler, would devour a copy of NOCTURNAL PRODUCTS if the opportunity offered. Or, you know. If someone could reprint it. :p

It really is a shame that it is not more widely available, for sure. And yes indeed...it has been unavailable for many years, of course. It was a book that was on my short list for many years, and the only opportunity I had to acquire it was through Tom himself, who gave me his copy that EH signed, inscribed, and sent to him after its original publication. If not for that stroke of luck, I would still be looking for it after many, many years of diligently hunting for it.

Valancourt books posted this on their twitter:

A reader recommended this one (Nocturnal Products) as a possible reprint, but I don't see a single copy for sale online, nor a single copy at any world library. Anybody have one that they feel like lending to us?

They are looking for a copy or scan to read so they can assess whether it would be a potential for them to reprint.

Also, I believe there are numerous stories which have not been translated or published in English. Imagine an omnibus collection of newly translated stories. I have been trying to nudge a reprint of this book for years. How about a Grimscribe Press reprint? Or some other publisher? Hippocampus? Anyone? There is definitely an interest is seeing Angerhuber's work in print, in English.

Anyone seeking to republish Nocturnal Products should consider reaching out to John B. Ford at Rainfall Books, the original publisher.

Does anyone know where I can obtain a copy of DIE DARBENDEN SCHATTEN? It seems to have gone missing just like NOCTURNAL PRODUCTS. I believe at one point there was an e-book available from Amazon and beam-shop.de but not any more. I was able to acquire paper copies of DAS ANAKASTISCHE SYNDROM and DER TAG DES SILBERNEN TIERS but that one is all but unavailable. I have sent an email to Atlantis Verlag a while ago but no response so far.

"Does anyone know where I can obtain a copy of DIE DARBENDEN SCHATTEN?"

Good question! That also seems to be as difficult to find as "Nocturnal Products" (which I have been seeking for years myself).

Other than her stories included in Rainfall Books' "Terror Tales v1" and "Shadow Writers: v. 2" and Miskatonic River Press' "The Grimscribe's Puppets," (which I have now), all I can find available for Eddie M. Angerhuber's works is the following available for download.

"The Skull and Other Nightmares"

The Skull and Other Nightmares | Angerhuber Eddie M. | download

Edit: Also found this on Amazon in German; looks interesting!

"Nighttrain: Nachtschatten (German Edition)"

https://www.amazon.com/Nighttrain-Nachtschatten-German-Tobias-Reckermann/dp/1081267321/ref=sr_1_1?crid=148B1AWJ0MKUG&keywords=eddie+m.+angerhuber&qid=1659649269&s=books&sprefix=eddie+m.+angerhuber%2Cstripbooks%2C72&sr=1-1

The "Nighttrain: Nachtschatten" collection contains only one story by Eddie M. Angerhuber, the very first one - "Pratts Manifestationen", other than that it's the German translation of stories by D.P Watt, Michael Perkampus, Matt Cardin and Jon R. Padgett.

I am especially surprised by the unavailability of the e-book version of Die Darbenden Schatten since it was apparently sold via Amazon in 2011. I remember when the Ash Tree Press paper editions disappeared, their e-books remained available and they can still be found to this day. I'll keep on searching and post any updates.

By the way, another rare book Charnel Wine by Richard Gavin is currently available on eBay for $175.

If anyone has Eddie's newest contact info, please send it to me. An affordable and easily available Grimscribe Press reprint of Nocturnal Products sounds like a great idea. I'd love to see her exceptional work in print again.

At risk of my own safety, I have a copy of Nocturnal Products and would gladly give it to the incredible team at Grimscribe if it would get even an inch closer to getting Angerhuber's stellar work reprinted.

That's kind of you, but I already have a copy. Just need to get in touch with Eddie again. It's been over 20 years since we've been in contact.

UPDATE: after extensive searching I was finally able to locate a copy of Die Darbenden Schatten and it is now in my possession. Now if only we could get Nocturnal Products reprinted!
Here it is next to other rarities:
