The Last Balcony

Thanks to Slawek Wielhorski (Yellowish Haze) and S.D. Tullis who both helped me choose the contents of THE LAST BALCONY.
=======================
Just a few words of amicable explanation:-
Impulsively, elsewhere, in public, I today withdrew my LAST BALCONY definitive collection of stories and shorter novellas from Ex Occidente Press. Please see HERE for context.
In 2009, the publisher approached me, keen to do such Collection, and I later came up with the title (see HERE).
I believe, even after my announcement today, the publisher remains keen on publishing my book. In many ways, I did and still do want the book published by him because I have lived with the idea of that book for so long. It was in my soul. And I was so pleased by his confidence in my work to approach me originally as he did. However, my decision is final and I offer apologies where apologies are due.

A tempestuous time for the publisher, I guess, the last year or so, judging by internet exchanges etc. I still don’t know all the facts. Whatever the case, some beautiful books have been produced by him. Those will be his legacy.

But THE LAST BALCONY was not to be. For my reasons given at the above link of context.
I might eventually publish it myself.

The sea’s skyline last night and Last Balcony news

Despite InkerMen Press closing its business last October, I note the mystery that THE LAST BALCONY is still for apparent regular sale on Amazon. I don’t know how long that is going to last.
Last year, I personally salted away 50 copies of this book for anyone in future needing a signed copy of it and that is still the position.
It is a lovely looking book with Tony Lovell’s artwork but I shall leave others to judge the contents of its text! As far as I know, no review copies were sent out and its only review (a giant one by Rhys Hughes) is shown here.
It is the only place where my two novellas, THE APOCRYFAN and YESTERFANG, can be experienced.

In addition, five signed copies of ‘A Dead Monument To Once Ancient Hope‘ for sale here.
Today’s ‘found art’ when visiting Frinton – with gate pillar as a stylised man or a sculptural version of the above LB book’s front cover design:

'The Last Balcony' & 'Weirdtongue', only 50 copies of each bought by myself when the publisher ceased trading and put these books out of print.
You can get one of each from me just for the price of postage:

Miserable, moi? :)
