The Saddest Sentence I've Ever Read

Having just finished Teatro Grotesco, I must say that the line that hit me hardest was the finale of "The Bungalow House":



"anything to find release from this heartbreaking sadness I suffer every minute of the day (and night)" etc.



(Sorry. Typed the whole sentence and my flying fingers hit something that erased it all. Grrrr) These words make my inner nothing ache for the despair that Thomas Ligotti must endure to stay among the living.

There have been a few threads asking about favourite Ligotti stories and The Bungalow House is the overwhelming favourite if you add up all the mentions.
This story really struck a chord.
