TLO Upgrade

My apologies, but I had to implement an upgrade without warning today. There are a few add-ons that need to be upgraded as a consequence. I do not expect that to be a major issue, but you may notice some features as being absent or problematic until I can address.
I got scared! But I’m glad it actually was an upgrade (on the old forums, it sometimes says that, but it’s actually something else). Do you need us to let you know if we notice any issues or anything?

I don’t know if it’s because of the upgrade, but I’m SO HAPPY. Sometimes, even when I stayed logged in, I had to log in twice for it to actually stay logged in, and if I logged out somehow, I would still be logged in on one of them. It was like having two sessions open at the same time. Now I only had to log in once, and it hasn’t logged me out.

Edit: I was wrong. It logged me out again, even after I selected “Keep me logged in.” Has anyone here been having the same issue for a long time?

To me, this sounds like a potential browser issue, but if others are experiencing the same, I need to know. What browser are you using?

This happens to me, as well.
Both browsers.
Supermium, a Chrome fork.
R3dfox, a Firefox fork.
Both are designed and regularly updated for old OS, such as XP, Vista, 7, 8.
I just log back in.
Equate the site to a haunted house, doors slamming on me.

I’m glad to know I’m not the only one. I check “Keep me logged in,” but when I go back to the home page, I’m logged out. I have to log in twice for it to actually keep me logged in.

Made a small test.
Even though I had none, I checked Alerts.
Then went left and clicked Home.
Got kicked off site.
Hit the "back one page" arrow and was back on.
That "Home" invariably loses me.

Perhaps it would be useful for Dr. Bantham to know this, since the Baidu bots and others doing data mining affected a Wiki we run at one point, so I know what I’m talking about. There are more than 10,000 guests per day; yesterday there were 13,000. But they no longer show up as bots—they’ve apparently found some way to hide the fact that they are bots.

I don’t think there are actually that many active people browsing the forum as guests, even considering that it’s Thomas Ligotti. I’m only mentioning it because these bots affect us as well, and we don’t have a filter in place when they register, so we have to ban them manually.
