Tool uses some disturbingly frightening video images in concert too. They are projected onto a large screen behind the stage. Some of the images are from their music videos, but some I have never seen before. They are pretty cool at first, but towards the end of the concert, they feel pretty used up. They are on a loop. The last time I saw them in concert, I was thinking how great it would be if they created a short film to show during the intermission, instead of the same video footage. They would have a captive audience of thousands, most of whom would be easy to please, because they have had a few beers too many. I know I always do.
In one of their concerts, they had these two weird contortionists, painted gold, who walked about on all fours all over the stage. They didn't even appear to be human. Then they climbed these ropes, probably thirty feet in the air, and made all these grotesque gyrations throughout the concert.
I wont even get into the time that Maynard dressed up in drag at Lollapalooza.
Yep, Tool puts on a heck of a good show.
