This is a YouTube channel that I sometimes listen to for his reaction to music. This is his take on an AI generated version of an Eminem song. Having heard both, I have to agree. This is better than the original.

I have to disagree... The AI version lacks what makes the original so great, the unrestrained anger in Eminem's voice.

I never checked out Cosey Fanni Tutti because Chris and Cosey use too many beats for me. But now I see there is an album I've been missing.

I'm really into 90's music at the moment and "Your Only Friends are Make Believe" by Bloodhound Gang got stuck in my head for the past 2 months.

In the late 70s and until their demise in 1981, I was a huge Throbbing Gristle fan. They were what inspired me to create my own multimedia project. When the two halves of TG went their own ways, it was disappointing: PTV were crap (imo), and C&C were like a watered down version of electronic TG. After seeing C&C live a couple of times (in 1983 and 1987), and with the passage of time, I now quite enjoy Chis & Cosey's 80s albums. C&C are also genuinely nice people.

I'm not surprised you were a fan of TG, given your previous comment about Jhon Balance. I didn't find this music until mid 90s, since I was off on other adventures, but when I heard Coil I immediately knew there was something there. I was always suspicious of Genesis because, well, my bullshit meter was ticking furiously, fairly or not. And again, C&C have too many beats (!) for me. But knowing that they are good people means a lot in these times and that's almost a relief to hear. And then Peter went off to be Coil and left Genesis to his own devices.

PS. I was always skeptical about how important was Jhon's contribution to Coil, but when he died it became more apparent. It seems like he was the one who provided the spark, the artistic vision, and Sleazy was the one who did the masterful work of making it into something truly accomplished. When Jhon died, I thought that maybe it wasn't such bad timing in terms of Coil because he had already moved on in terms of his personal relationship with Ian Johnstone, but in retrospect I have grown to think that their later output is even better than their earlier work. But it's all good.

It was a much different world back then, as you know. Pre-internet, communication in the experimental music scene was done either by letters or in person. I fell out of touch with Geoff (aka Jhon) when he joined TOPY ("Temple ov Psychic Youth"). It wasn't until around 15 years ago that I revisited Coil.

There is much I could say regarding TG, Genesis, and their history, since I was acquainted with a number of the principals involved. Let's just say that your instincts regarding Gen are certainly sound.

I knew this song for several years before I realized it was a Bowie song. I was familiar with early Bowie, but somehow I never really paid much attention to Man Who Sold the World. Now it might be my favorite album. It's dark...in parts. Here are the Pain Teens covering She Shook Me in all its splendor.
