SHRIKE: New novella by Quentin S. Crisp

I just noticed Quentin S. Crisp has a forthcoming novella titled Shrike. According to PS Publishing's website, it's due in Mid 2008. It will be printed in two editions: A jacketed hardcover limited to 200 signed and numbered copies for $50, and a standard hardcover for $20.

I pre-ordered mine a while ago during PS's 50% off sale. That, the Joel Lane novella, and the Nick Royle novella.

I can't wait for the lot! Plus, of course, Mark Samuels' new collection (due from PS this September).

PS Publishing is a top-notch publisher. I've read a story or two of Quentin S. Crisp and he's very good.

obviously i need to pay more attention to ps publishing, as mark samuels and quentin s. crisp are two of the best writing in or near a or the genre today. currently (as in i just finished vrolyck about 15 minutes ago) rereading the white hands and enjoying it much more than i did the first time through...like a fine wine. mr crisp i would say is more like port, to extend the booze analogy. instant gratification with a long lasting pleasing aftertaste. speaking of port...

I haven't been round for a while. Thanks to everyone for their interest. Here's the Shrike link, just in case you haven't found it:

I'm looking forward to seeing what the cover will look like.

I'm working on lots of things at the moment, including a kind of follow-up to Shrike, which will be a full-length novel. It is called Susuki. I'm also still looking for a publisher for a novel I wrote about four years ago called, "Remember You're a One-Ball!" I really seem to have more stuff unpublished than published for some reason. It's not an easy game, it seems.

Oh yes, there's also a chapbook from Rainfall out recently, called Sado-ga-shima. Limited edition.

Port, eh? I've been known to enjoy a little occasionally.

Well, thanks again for your support. :p

Found this review online:

Bibliophile Stalker: Book/Magazine Review: Shrike by Quentin S. Crisp

I find it a bit mysterious because I don't think the book's been officially released yet, but the evidence points very much towards the reviewer having (and having read) a copy of the book. I'm assuming it's some kind of magic. Anyway, it's a good review, which is a relief.

Mine arrived this morning too. It's a quite beautiful book. Beautiful endpapers and a nice frontispiece. Looking forward to reading it.
