I notice that, in the scanned letter page a couple of posts down, I wrote were in place of where. Whoops!

Re: Jane

Arising early this morning, before seven o'clock, I attended to the needs of my cat, washed, conducted my morning devotions to the goddess, and then made myself a cup of tea. (Actions performed in that sequence.) Once all that was done, I settled to re-working the penultimate chapter of Jane. I'm pleased with my changes, although they don't add much to the chapter. (The chapter increased, this morning, from 7,060 words to 7,070 words. But there was a bit of removing old words, as well as adding new.) Now, I'm having a break on the TLO. My literary work is probably over for today, anyway. I suspect that, before I could reach the end of the final chapter, my housemate will have arisen, and be filling the house with clatter.

It turned out that my housemate was jolly late in starting his clatter today. I took advantage of his quiet to work through the final chapter this morning. I noticed, and corrected, a couple of typos and made two or three minimal changes. And that completes my work on Jane, at least until I respond to comments made by people to whom I'll send the text. It scarcely seems possible that I've seen every typo, fastened upon every infelicity. But who knows?
