Today, as some of you may know, is the ancient Egyptian new year. It's not a random date. July 19th was when the Nile began to flood (so regular, people could set their calendars by it). I've been in the forest today, walking in the rain, and I had a thought. Egypt is not much of a country for rain. When the Egyptians wrote of proper rain in other countries, they called it the Sky Nile. It seemed appropriate that, today, the Sky Nile was in flood.

Not sure about TLO itself, but there is The Career of Nightmares group dedicated to Mr. Ligotti. No posts in 2011, and scheduled to be "archived" by Facebook, how appropriate.

I have my own Sesqua Valley group at Facebook, where I had a bunch of discussions and posted one or two unpublished stories. After my group was "archived" all of the discussions were deleted! I find that Facebook is a place where people hang out but don't really "do" anything. I've tried to begin discussions in various Lovecraft and Mythos groups, but instead of saying anything in-depth people just seem to wait to post "Ia Cthulhu!" or "Lovecraft rocks!" and such. The only time I go to Facebook now is to okay friend requests and post my newest vlogs.
