Sorry about the "gangsta hits" business, this was the only version of this song I could find on Youtube. It's not the lyrics of this song that bring me to tears every time I hear this, but the music. It's breathtakingly beautiful and sorrowful to my ears and soul:

Liz Harris is always the first musician that comes to mind when the topic of sad music comes up. Such warm, cozy, muddy and lethargic music full of sorrow and isolation. Beautiful stuff.

just been through all 19 pages of this topic and discovered a few great bands I've never heard of :-) I'm surprised the Cranes haven't been posted yet......
