heh, while I am here, Vvlad- a merger of lo-fi black metal and backwoods delta blues played on hand-made cigar box guitars. Not entirely sure why I like this, but I'll not lie, I do.

reminded me how much I enjoyed these podcasts

Professor Gruntsplatters Spookatorium

and that reminded me how I wished there were more of these

My KPFA - Black Mass Index

and now on looking them up to post I find there won't

Vale Erik Bauersfeld

My KPFA - Black Mass

I treasured his work

(coincidentally - believe this or not - I watched this weekend The Force Awakens for the first time and had just finished watching Crimson Peak (still in my laptop) before checking in on TLO, and discovering this news, I am sure there was much he could still have contributed - I recommend the radio show podcasts)

Not particularly obscure but weird and horrifying nonetheless.

For anyone who is tired of death, death, death on this site (and everywhere)... here is some "life metal." This'll cheer you right up.

Highly recommend seeking out Jacques Coursil's Black Suite album from Actuel.

I think this project/songrwriter deserves far more attention than it gets. Lynhood is freshly after releasing her first EP, but I already find it very inventive and powerful, plus, the performance is a pure joy to watch.
Ambient'y atmospheric and somewhat folkish, with very catchy melodic lines and captivating bass-lines. Perfect listen for autumn if you ask me. Highly recommended.
