King In Yellow Anthology
Just so it is known, I'm starting an anthology of "King In Yellow" based poems which will be printed and designed much in the same style as Beardsley's publications, only with KIY imagery. I've already gotBruce Boston on board for it. Anyone who wants to contribute a poem:
1) All poems should be written in an 18th century Decadent style. Read Dowson, James Thomson, etc if you haven't already. And know all about the King In Yellow Mythos. 2) Make it the most evil poem you've ever written! |
Re: King In Yellow Anthology
Is it known what publisher this would be published by?

Re: King In Yellow Anthology
Not yet, no. I'm aiming for Dark Regions Press, which I don't think should be a problem. Or Ravenna Press with my publisher Kathryn Rantala. If anyone has any submissions, send them to

Re: King In Yellow Anthology
I've been pretty much sleepless since this was announced, working on my submission, which I will include below. I think I've even managed to outdo Dowson in portraying a fin de siècle atmosphere of sickly and ill-defined abstract terror and decayed romanticism. teguififthzeal, please PM me and I will send you my PayPal details.

Killing it.
This poetry anthology is off to a great start. And now I'll have Donovan stuck in my head the rest of day. |

Ode To the Lettuce Man
Reaching with five shaking condors of madness, your brown knuckles sweating out swollen dark plateaus for an overseas addiction, maybe, offering steamed bills green hued fire as penance? Lettuce, always lettuce, hiding like an orphan borne in its scale from wet blue sparks, supermarket disinfectant. Behind your pupils beady halls of mirrors your cart tapping out a dead language for a noon rain, your squint fierce and holy, a wreath of liquid hornets buzzing away toothless vipers in aisle 9... |
