Ligotti Given Short Shrift on "The All-Time Greatest Horror Writers"?

The All-Time Greatest Horror Writers
The List.

The Bad News: Ligotti is ranked at #43 . . . below William Peter Blatty (?), below Joe Hill, below Whtley Streiber, below a half dozen people I've never heard of.

The Good News: It's an interactive site that updates the rankings based on user participation, so if you feel Ligotti deserves to be ranked higher on the list you can simply vote for him.

I was unable to vote for Ligotti. Everyone else, Ligotti no.

The plot thickens.

Weird.
I voted for him and a couple others. Didn't down vote anyone though, because that just seems petty.

This reveals the horror that most people are oblivious to the deeply sinister dark things sleeping at the periphery of every moment.

I could vote for him (does that make me part of the conspiracy?). Seriously, I wouldn't take that list too seriously (no pun intended) as it is obviously not necessarily aimed at people who are weird fiction afficionados. It's jsut one of those list-things you find on the Internet ad nauseam. In addition to that the address doesn't say writers but novelists. So some of the authors are certainly out of place. :)

I vote for Ligotti, and make the mistake of downvoting anyone above him because I thought he'd move up if they've a lot of dislikes. :o

Well, he's number #39 now so at least he's sharing company with Fritz Leiber and Arthur Machen instead of sitting below Edward Lee(?) and Douglas Clegg (?).

I'll rest easier knowing that at least one internet injustice has been mildly corrected today.

Well, he's beating V.C. Andrews. That ought to count for something.
