Re: TLO Welcomes metalforever
I misread the name as "Metalflower"... Which, come to think of it, would have been in the tradition of such band names as Led Zeppelin and Iron Butterfly (combining something heavy and metallic with something light.)
Oh -- and, with another round of coming to think of it, I was in the room (sometime around 1970) when the local band tried to think of a name of this sort. They paired up all sorts of heavy and light things, but to no avail. No one came up with anything satisfactory, but maybe they'd have gone with Metalflower, who knows? They seemed to be fond of name changes, I can think of at least four names under which they performed, and there must have been more. The most inspired, in my opinion, was the Urbane Gorilla Blues Band. | |||||||||||
