Re: THE PROZESS MANIFESTATIONS (new collection)

Greetings. While we have not interacted here on TLO, your post regarding your father's health issues resonated strongly with me. I am sorry to hear about the challenges facing both of you.

I saw...

Re: Recent Reading

Agree 100 percent on Evenson and Gavin contributions. I like most everything these wonderful writers do, and Gavin's "Neithernor" was particularly good. Very mannered and proper in an Aickman way...

Re: Recent Reading

I am currently making my way through the Aickman's Heirs anthology. A very good collection thus far that is definitely living up to the excellent reviews I have seen.

Quote From A Page-A-Day Calendar

"Dirty, stained, withered, broken things seem beautiful to me."

I thought some here might appreciate this line from Yohji Yamamoto. I had no idea who this person was when I saw the quote, but...

Re: Thomas Ligotti Online - 20 Year Anniversary

As I've said elsewhere, although I am an infrequent poster, TLO is very important to me. I greatly appreciate this site and the weird and wicked doors it has opened for me. Congrats TLO, you still...

Re: The Literature of Creepy Clowns

The sight of the Evil Clown of Middletown (the one pictured in the first post in this thread) always brings a smile to my face. It is a metal sign that looms like a psychotic sheet metal sentinel...

Re: New Yorker Ligotti Article

Very nice article. I only wish it were longer! As has been said, it is gratifying to see a writer whose work I've long read and admired being appreciated by a wider audience.

Re: I Am Not Dying In A Nightmare - Dreams and Psychosis in the Works of Thomas Ligot

Thanks "With Strength I Burn" for adding to the discussion. As you can see, I missed your post back in July when it went up. Apologies for the delay in responding.

Re: What are your favorite H.P. Lovecraft adaptations?

I am curious if those who've watched "In The Mouth of Madness" (which really is a very cool, creepy movie) have also read "The Land of Laughs," a novel by Jonathan Carroll.

There are some...

Re: I Am Not Dying In A Nightmare - Dreams and Psychosis in the Works of Thomas Ligot

Thanks, Miguel. I wrote this paper way back in late 2005. I recently exhumed a box full of grad school notebooks, stories, fiction exercises and papers from my basement storage room. This was in...

Re: I Am Not Dying In A Nightmare - Dreams and Psychosis in the Works of Thomas Ligot

Thanks Cynothoglys and ramonoski.

The paper references Eigen's "The Psychotic Core," which I found to be a very fascinating and disturbing book. It is fairly technical/clinical, but also contains...

I Am Not Dying In A Nightmare - Dreams and Psychosis in the Works of Thomas Ligotti

I have posted a paper on Ligotti's work that I wrote for a graduate English course a few years back. It discusses psychosis and dreams while focusing on three stories - Dream of a Mannikin,...

Re: TLO Welcomes SF Sorrow

Greetings everyone. It's good to be here. I'm a longtime fan of Ligotti's work, but a new member of the site. I have skimmed/lurked a bit in the past, but decided it was time to give it a go.
