Re: Bands You've Seen
As an avid record collector, it's probably weird that I've seen so few concerts, but that is partly because I've always lived in a place where concerts were a long drive away. That said:
Public Image - in a roller rink in Detroit 1980. This is my most "historic" show. It was also an eye opener in terms of the crowd for a small town boy. I wanted them to play Sex Pistols songs, but now I'm glad I saw them instead. Captain Beefheart - Detroit 1980. Iggy Pop - in a dive bar in Detroit in 1980. My friend had to stay in the parking lot because he was underage. That must have been heinous for him. Bootsy Collins - San Francisco 1993 The Fall - SF 1993 Sonic Youth - Santa Cruz 1993? Steel Pole Bathtub - Monterey 1994? Legendary Pink Dots - multiple times between 1998 and 2019. They always put on a good show. Highly recommended, though they are aging. I also saw many Indian Classical Music concerts, some small names, but also: Ustad Ali Akbar Khan Pandit Jasraj Ustad Imrat Khan Ustad Vilayat Khan Amir Khan Lakshmi Shankar Zakir Hussein Alla Rakha Swapan Chaudhuri As someone else said here, it has become increasingly difficult to survive a concert, due to all the time standing, waiting and traveling. If somebody wants to come play at my house, they're welcome. But not just anybody.

Re: Bands You've Seen
I haven't seen a lot of concerts over the years, so I think this list will be comprehensive:
The Moody Blues (an old Ligotti favorite) The Kinks Christy Moore The Wolfe Tones The Who The Police U2 Leonard Cohen Madeleine Peyroux The Cure Paul Simon Elton John Rod Stewart The Three Irish Tenors I've gotten too old for most concerts. Not particularly fond of crowds.

Never seen it live, though I think there was a live showing once, but the dark-ambient album TOWERS is one that I enjoy listening to while reading. Industrial, dystopian hellscape. After while the towers start to feel alive.

Your fall should be like the fall of mountains. But I was before mountains. I was in the beginning, and shall be forever. The first and the last. The world come full circle. I am not the wheel. I am the hand that turns the wheel. I am Time, the Destroyer. I was the wind and the stars before this. Before planets. Before heaven and hell. And when all is done, I will be wind again, to blow this world as dust back into endless space. To me the coming and going of Man is as nothing.

Re: Bands You've Seen
I've seen Arcade Fire live once, in 2014. I am not that big of a fan, but I am pretty sure this is one of their best shows, and directed by Terry Gilliam, no less.
