I recently made this EP inspired by quite a few things, including Ligotti. I thought some of you may find it interesting.

An EP of songs that have been discarded and forgotten, almost like a pack of hyper-intelligent rats finding their way into an underground laboratory beneath the sewers of an unnamed city, and discovering the strange horrors within, including a clue as to their mysterious origin. The thoughts of these rats: "Why do we exist as sentient, hyper-self-aware beings in these tunnels of blackness and despair, this endless labyrinth of noxious stenches? Who is our hateful Creator, and why does he permit us to rot away in this hell of a world? Wouldn't the cold, stale oblivion of black nothingness be preferable to this steaming excremental existence deep in the earth?"

They find the answers to these questions deep within..."The Strange Subterranean Laboratory of Hideous Abominations".

Except, this isn't a concept album about rats in a subterranean laboratory. It's actually about human beings like you and me, and is in fact an allegory on the nature of life itself. Also, this is actually a collection of random, discarded songs thrown together with no coherent theme, which is also an allegory on the nature of life itself, which although provides us with fleeting moments of Intense & Ecstatic Absurd Beauty, and a vague perception of some rational structure, is more like a subterranean sewer laboratory and the contents therein, whatever that may be.

Found it quite interesting and can say I even liked it.
I can hear the Ligotti influence in the overall atmosphere, whether that be the weird, carnival like melodies, the distorted percussion, or the eerie Theremin voices.
