Re: Recent Reading
I ought to have read On the Origin of the Species long ago, but did not come around to it until now. It demands an effort to get through, but is rewarding. I will look into The Descent of Man, which I have not noticed before! Thanks! I read his book The Expression of the Emotions in Man and Animals, which was quite interesting.

Re: Recent Reading
Iain Reid - I am thinking of Ending Things
A long and congested trip inside the mind of an extremely intelligent and very disturbed person. A sample of what can happen to us when we penetrate too deeply into ourselves. We might get stuck. We may want to remain trapped. Enjoying our comfortable confusion... Something I liked was that the title of the book completely changes its meaning after you finish reading. Overall, very ingenious but not much enjoyable.
