All God's Angels, Beware!

It appears I've neglected to mention that my next collection, All God's Angels, Beware!, is available to pre-order:

Ex Occidente Press - All God's Angels, Beware!

It will be a physically large volume, hence the price. This is actually the size of two or three normal collections.
Wonderful title!

And all God's angels beware,
And all you judges beware,
Sons of chance, take good care,
For all the people not there,
I'm not afraid anymore,
I'm not afraid anymore,
I'm not afraid anymore,
Oh, I'm not afraid anymore.

Joy Division - "Insight"

Wonderful title!

Thank you. I've wanted a collection with this title for a while. I know that the publisher and myself both wanted to produce something special with this. I hope that those who do buy the volume will agree that the slightly higher price is worth it.

I'm sure it'll be more than worth it, Q.

Anyone who's not already pre-ordered the book should rush to do so. You're by far the most accomplished literary stylist currently writing weird fiction.

Thank you. Always glad of your support.

I'm looking forward to this very much indeed. I wholeheartedly agree with Mark Samuels. Shrike was brilliant.

Thank you. The website gives July as the release date for AGAB, and I think this is reasonably firm, though delays always seem to occur. Glad that you enjoyed Shrike. I should really crack on and revise the already written sequel (I'm also currently writing something that's thematically a prequel, though not with the same characters).

Announcement:

The details of All God's Angels, Beware! have now been finalised. The cover and interior frontispiece are shown below. The content will be as follows:

Troubled Joe
The Were-Sheep of Abercrave
Ynys-y-Plag
Karakasa
A Cup of Tea
Asking For It
The Fox Wedding
Mise en Abyme
Italiannetto
Suicide Watch

The frontispiece artwork is: "The Lovesick Man" (1916) by George Grosz

A limited edition chapbook of tales that did not make the final contents due to considerations of book size will also be made available at a later date. This chapbook will be free to those who have ordered the book already, or who order it pre-release (pre-order). Details of the contents and so on of the chapbook are to be confirmed.

Quentin,

The layout of the cover seems similar to Mark Valentine's The Nightfarers. I'm curious if your book will be jacketed and of similar binding. I hope so, as it's really a beautiful book, the best Ex Occidente has done thus far.

I believe that this design format will be used with all future Ex Occidente releases, or at least with some more of them. So, yes, the book will be jacketed, and presumably the binding will be similar, too.

Quentin,
I've just pre-ordered it from the publisher.
I very much look forward to reviewing it.

Thank you. I hope you enjoy it.

Yes. Hopefully more details will be available before too long. A dilemma arose regarding the contents, and this was clearly the creative way to solve it.

Yes that is a great idea! It made me preorder the book (I had the intention of waiting for it to be real before buying it, even if I never had any problem with Dan at Ex-Occidente!)

Now I'm waiting for it, and for the Mark Samuels (And David Tibet's Lyrics books but that's another story altogether...)

I sent off the last - I think the last - of my corrections yesterday, so it shouldn't be too long before All God's Angels, Beware! is at the printers, and turns from concept to actuality. I'm looking forward to Mark Samuels' book, too.

Congratulations! (I allso note you have a story in the Gustav Meyrink collection which seems to going to print soon as well.)

I love the Redon illustration on the cover ('Berenice', if I'm not mistaken). I am looking forward to this collection.

Indeed I have.

Thank you for the interest.

I hope that the story will prove to be absorbing in some way.

Crikey, you must have written this message just as I was writing my last message. Yes, the Redon illustration is great, and very appropriate, I believe.

I re-read 'Berenice' just the other day, prompted by the cover illo.
