TLO Welcomes Laird

Welcome!

I loved The Imago Sequence. Old Viriginia gave me an awful case of the frights. Keep up the good work.

I consider Laird the most interesting, original and brilliant weird writer since Ligotti -- I came to this opinion during World Horror in San Francisco, when he presented me with ye issue of F&SF in which "The Imago Sequence" had its initial publication. That tale blew my mind, and does not lessen its impact after having read it twice over. Happily, Laird is writing full-time and, I believe, writing story after story. He will have modern Lovecraftian tales in both Ellen Datlow's LOVECRAFT UNBOUND and S. T. Joshi's BLACK WINGS -- and how delighted I am that we shall appear together in that book, in which Laird and I have the lengthiest novelettes. So COOL to see you here, amigo! You've already created quite a stir!

STIR? ?? The man is COLOSSAL! !! A maelstorm . . . and an utter treasure of Weird Fiction! !! I'm almost done w/ IMAGO, Laird, where the hell is the next book? ?? I've still got birthday money to blow!

And I too, am delighted to be appearing in a tome w/ a talent such as you! !!

Welcome aboard, Laird. TLO can only benefit from your very welcome presence.

Agreeing with everybody else above: Laird's work amazing.

Hello, everybody! Thank you for the welcome. I look forward to hanging around Mr. Ligotti's stoop with all the other children of the night....

Yes, Laird, it is good to see you in this dark corner of the net. Congrats on the sale of the short story collection and novel!

Oh, hang on, I think I know. But I've only read "The Forest", which I couldn't finish (apologies Laird, no offence intended).

Mark S.

I'm beginning to wonder whether I'm the only person round here with no idea as to who Laird is.

I know of him but I can't say I've read any of his stories yet sadly. Wilum and Ramsey both lauded The Imago Sequence and other stories as a great collection of Lovecraftian horror so I will be sure to read it eventualy*

* Really the bibliography of Thomas Ligotti Online is massive in itself - I have loads of books I'm really eager to to look into just from joining. And that's just the stuff the members have produced!
